R-1234yf

This HFO is a 4th generation refrigerant primarily used in automotive air-conditioning. It enables the automotive industry to sell vehicles equipped with air-conditioning systems that comply with European Directive 2006/40/EC (MAC Mobile Air-Conditioning System Directive), which bans the use of refrigerants with a global warming potential (GWP) greater than 150. This fluid has similar thermodynamic properties to R-134a, though it has a slightly higher flammability, making it an option to consider in applications where R-134a is used.
